Christmas Stroll Street Closings

The 28th Annual Christmas Stroll will be held Dec. 6 from noon to 8 p.m. in downtown Georgetown. The following streets will be closed from Dec. 5 at 4 p.m. to Dec. 6 at 10 p.m.:

  • Main Street from 5th Street to 9th Street
  • 8th Street from Austin Avenue to Church Street
  • 7th Street from Austin Avenue to Church Street
  • 6th Street from Austin Avenue to Church Street
  • Austin Avenue from 9th Street to 6th Street (only closed Dec. 6, 10 a.m to 10 p.m.)

The Christmas stroll begins with a noon parade around the square and will feature free horse-drawn carriage and hay rides, pictures with Santa, children activities, food and retail vendors, and an outdoor showing of "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" (2000) at 6:30 p.m. Hosted by the Downtown Georgetown Association, the event is expected to draw up to 30,000 people.

Thank you for the info on the street closings... HOWEVER, the closings on Friday night are for set-up only. The event is ONLY on Saturday noon-8PM. Can you please correct the info on your listing? Thank you~ Sorry if my conversation with you was misleading.
