As businesses in Cedar Park continue to grow, so does SLR Design.
“More than anything, we try to cater to tenants and businesses who need to grow their business whether they need more space, need a bigger building or just need to lease space,” said SLR Design president and founding owner Stacy Rudd.
SLR provides real estate development and architectural services, handling the process from top to bottom beginning with land acquisition, architecture and design to working with banks, engineers and consultants.
SLR Design also invests private equity into real estate deals.
“We really want our clients to feel like we’re taking care of their projects,” Rudd said. “They don’t have to worry about the project while they’re still running their business and we’re building a new facility for them.”
Rudd launched SLR design in 2002 after working for several different firms and finding a desire to manage a more comprehensive business with an individual touch.
“Really, I just wanted to have a better service,” Rudd said. “I wanted to bring it all in-house so we could manage our projects ourselves and not have to have clients go deal with several other people. We do all of it so we take better care of them.”
Taking good care of customers has always been important to Rudd. The 12-person company could easily double in size, but Rudd has purposely slowed the growth in order to maintain a personal touch on each project.
“I meet all of our clients, and I know who all of them are, and as they get handed off to other people in our company, I still stay in contact with them,” Rudd said. “If we get too many big projects — if we add too many employees too quickly — I would lose that and people would stop getting really good service.”
Although SLR Design’s flagship developments are large industrial projects, Rudd is quick to point out that the company is also capable of helping smaller scale businesses.
The firm has completed projects as large as 30,000 sq. ft. and as small as 1,500 sq. ft. If SLR Design can’t build the right space, it offers tenant representation to help find it.
“Business is going well. We feel like we’ve provided some nice projects for the city and created some tax base and commerce for the city,” Rudd said. “We’re real happy to be here.”
Some notable SLR Design projects include:
