Brushy Creek Road
- 183A Tollway to Parmer Lane
- A 2006 General Obligation Bond project for reconstruction of Brushy Creek Road from 183A Tollway to Parmer Lane.
- Brushy Creek Road will be widened from an existing two-lane roadway to a four-lane divided arterial roadway with a raised median, sidewalks, landscaping and illumination.
- Upon completion, this road will provide an improved east-west access and additional traffic handling capacity between Parmer Lane and the new 183A Tollway.
- The estimated cost of this project is $8,000,000 which includes all soft and hard costs to design and construct the road.
- Design and construction will take 18 to 24 months.
New Hope Road
- Lakeline Blvd. to RM 1431
- A 2006 General Obligation Bond project for the extension, re-construction and widening of New Hope Road from RM 1431 east to Lakeline Blvd.
- The ultimate cross-section of the road is a four lane divided arterial with raised median and the initial cross-section to be constructed with this project is one-half (two-lanes) of the ultimate cross-section.
- The reason for the phased approach is to allow space for a large diameter regional water line planned to be built in this location in the next two to three years. Once the regional water line has been installed and when funds are available, the road will be widened to the ultimate cross-section.
- The project is also being designed and constructed concurrently with the swimming pool at the City’s Northwest Community Park and both are planned to be completed on or before May of 2008.
- The estimated construction cost of this road is $6,400,000 which includes all soft and hard costs to design and construct the road.
- Leander Road Improvements approved in Nov. 7 election
- Voters approved Proposition 1 which provides more than $16 million for road improvements. They also approved Proposition 1 of the Williamson County Bond package to provide more than $228 million to improve roads throughout the county. A map of all the proposed road improvements were printed in the October issue of Community Impact and can also be seen on our Web site, www.impactnewspaper.com.
East Little Elm Trail Detour
- East Little Elm Trail from US 183 to the driveway of the Twin Lakes Family YMCA closed Oct. 30 for realignment and reconstruction. Work is expected to take approximately three months and the road will be completely closed to vehicular traffic.
- Once the roadway is closed, vehicles will be required to enter and exit the YMCA site via an alternate route. This route is approximately one mile south of the East Little Elm Trail / US 183 intersection This alternate route is very narrow and drivers must cross a one-lane bridge, so caution is urged. The project is being undertaken to increase mobility, visibility, and safety at the East Little Elm Trail / US 183 intersection.

- At the completion of the project, a traffic light will be installed at the intersection of East Little Elm Trail and US 183. This traffic light will be installed under a separate contract administered by the Texas Department of Transportation and is not a part of the City’s roadway improvement project. Although TxDOT is not able to provide an exact completion date for the traffic signal, it is expected to be operational shortly after the completion of the roadway construction portion of the project. In the event that the roadway is completed and reopened prior to the installation of the signal, a temporary stop sign will be placed at the intersection.
- Any questions regarding this project should be directed to the City of Cedar Park Public Works Department at 401-5352.
