The road now known as US 183 has been central to Cedar Park from the first founders to the wide variety of businesses that have served the area for many years. Bell Boulevard, as the road is commonly known, is named for Kenneth E. Bell, the first mayor of Cedar Park, who was elected in 1973.

11 Barber Cuts offers haircuts for men and boys. Owner Chuck Hawkins opened it July 1, 2002, and has 48 years of experience. No appointment is necessary; closed Sunday and Monday.

12 The District Skateboard Supply opened Feb. 1 and offers a selection of skateboards, clothing, shoes and accessories. Owner Jeremy Lopez previously had stores in California and has been involved with the industry since 1992.

13 Hearing Aid Express is a family owned business based out of the Houston area. The office opened July 21 and offers hearing aids and free screenings.

14 Peak Performance Martial Arts, formerly DragonHeart Karate, has been in Cedar Park for 12 years. The studio offers traditional and mixed martial arts, a leadership academy for adults and children, parent coaching, after-school programs and summer camps. Visit www.peakperformancemartialarts.com.

21 Advanced Tech Automotive has served the Cedar Park area since 1991. The shop services most vehicles and performs scheduled maintenance and diagnostics.

Future land use

34 Smokey Denmark is relocating from its current facility in downtown Austin to this larger 12-acre site. The owners say they hope to break ground in early 2009. The site will include a Texas-style barbecue restaurant and the relocation of the current production facility for premium quality smoked meats including brisket, sausage and ribs. History

35 Cedar Park Cemetery, also known as Cluck Family Cemetery, is a 4-acre, privately owned cemetery. George and Hattie Cluck, one of the founding families of Cedar Park, buried one of their children at this location in 1901 and donated the original 1-acre lot. The cemetery was donated by the Cluck family to the Central Texas Children’s Home, which now maintains the cemetery, sells plots and uses the proceeds to benefit the children’s home. City of Cedar Park

36 Cedar Park Fire Station #1 will be rebuilt with a tentative spring 2010 starting date followed by a 12-month construction period. The station was originally built in 1972 by volunteer firefighters, and a second section was added in 1992. The original station will be torn down, and the new 7,500 sq. ft. station with three stories and three apparatus bays will be built on the same property.
