The City of Cedar Park’s Annual Street Rehabilitation Project
The City of Cedar Park’s annual Street Rehabilitation Project began earlier this month with work on Lakeline Blvd. between 1431 and New Hope Rd., Sun Chase Blvd., and streets within the Cypress Creek, Hymeadow and Cypress Mill subdivisions.
Streets being restriped or striped for the first time include Buttercup Creek, Cedar Hills, Cluck Creek, Continental Pass, Darkwoods Trl., Deerfield, Discovery Blvd., Fall Creek, Heritage Park, Lakeline from 1431 to New Hope Rd., Lynnwood Trl., Nelson Ranch, Pagedale, Quest Blvd., and Sun Chase Blvd.
The Cedar Park City Council allocated in the 2005-2006 city budget a total of $200,000 for the actual treatment of the streets and $85,000 for their restriping, including lane dividers, crosswalks, school zones and reflective buttons. Motorists should expect some delays as work progresses.
Any questions may be directed to Brad Pearce at Viking Construction, 930-5777 or Superintendent Wayne Billingsley at the City of Cedar Park, 258-1275.
Improvements to Brushy Creek Road
The City of Cedar Park was recently approved for $3.42 million in federal funds for improvements to Brushy Creek Rd. from Darkwoods Dr. to Parmer Ln. The project will consist of widening the road to four lanes with a continuous left turn lane, a bicycle lane, curb and gutter, street lighting, and a signal at the intersection of Brushy Creek Rd. and Lynnwood Trl.
Schedule of Remaining Night Operations
Overnight work on the 183A toll road is expected to continue in the coming months. The work involves the placement of concrete and cement treated base, both of which must be done when temperatures are less than 85º F and reduced nighttime traffic can accommodate the transport of large volumes of material. If you have any questions regarding the nighttime work, call the 183A hotline at 485-183A (1832).
