General Manager's Note - April, 2008

I grew up in the suburbs of Dallas, and Grapevine was the place you drove through to get to the airport or go to the lake. There was a lot of land and homes, but not much else. I never thought the town would become a tourist hotspot. Now I see advertising around Austin inviting people to shop and play in Grapevine.
In the same way, Cedar Park and Leander are setting the stage for becoming tourist destinations. There are major projects in the works that will draw people to our cities, and the exploration process to develop a destination city is just beginning.
My husband and I enjoy being local tourists. We keep an ongoing list of places to visit and things to do, and there are a number of events scheduled just down the street from where we live. To help you enjoy being a tourist in your city, we bring you a seasonal entertainment guide so you can enjoy a variety of events in your own backyard.
Be sure to take a tour of our redesigned website. We think it will not only be more fun to browse through the site, but will be a little more useful, too. Your local news is now more accessible than ever. We urge community groups to use our calendar to post your events, so that all can enjoy the various activities that are going on throughout the community.
