1. Holiday Tree Lighting
When Cedar Park holds the Holiday Tree Lighting in Heritage Oak Park Dec. 1, more than 30,000 lights will illuminate the city’s largest Live Oak. During the event that will take place from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at 875 Quest Parkway, attendees can also enjoy caroling, carriage rides and a Yule fire. A coloring contest for kindergarten and first grade students determines who lights the tree. Free to the public.
2. Burger House
Moonie’s Burger House will open Nov. 10 at 200 S. Bell Blvd. ready to offer 12-14 different hamburger varieties, with similar chicken breast options. Moonie’s menu will have an extensive children’s plate selection including items such as snow cones.
3. Salon Amoré
After operating a salon in Europe, Sophie Samar moved to the United States and opened Salon Amoré at 605 N. Bell Blvd., Ste. 104 this summer. 4. Antique Shop
Western Antiques & Art began serving customers in October. The shop located at 519 N. Bell sells hand-carved art, children’s furniture, jewelry, eclectic gifts and collectibles. For more information, call 331-8500.
5. Shermco Expansion
Shermco Industries moved to 300 Brushy Creek Road to 715 Discovery Blvd., doubling its previous office from 1,500 sq. ft. to 3,000 sq. ft. and expanding its employment. Since 1974, Shermco has provided testing, repair, maintenance and analysis of power distribution systems and related equipment.
6. New Pizzeria
Brooklyn Heights Pizzeria opened Oct. 27 at 14900 Avery Ranch Blvd., Ste C700, ready to serve from its authentic East Coast-style menu. For more information, call 238-8889.
7. Ewing Opens 30th Store
Ewing Irrigation, Golf & Industrial opened it 30th branch location in Texas at 201 C.R. 185. The 14,000 sq. ft. facility located on more than 4 acres will offer commercial and residential landscape and water management supplies to professionals serving the golf, landscaping, turf and industrial businesses. 8. Electronic Store Opens
Rent 1st opened its doors Oct. 2 at 251 N. Bell, Ste. 109. The rent-to-own store specializes in high-end products including plasma televisions, desktop computers and laptops, home theater systems, washers, dryers and refrigerators. For more information, call 335-2800 or visit their website.
9. Future Grocery Breaks Ground
A groundbreaking event Nov. 6 began a new project at 1201 Lakeline Blvd. Cedar Park One, a 21,000 sq. ft. building will house Red Onion Market, a neighborhood grocery also opening a store in Round Rock and Fresenius Dialysis Co., the first dialysis provider in Cedar Park.
