1 . Cash in the Attic
The hit TV show on the Home and Garden Network, Cash in the Attic, is coming to Leander with an expert appraiser to get the best price for items. Hammer Down Auctions, a new auction house, was chosen to be the auction house for the TV show when they film later this month or early next month. 2. A New Leaf
A new florist shop opened this month in the Old Town Leander Center next to Leander Realty. A New Leaf relocated from Austin and is a full service florist offering gift items, as well as arrangements for weddings and parties. Call 459-7673 for more information.
TxTag Commission
The Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority launched a program allowing local groups to raise money by selling TxTag transponders. Under the program, community groups will earn a commission of $2 for each transponder registered on their behalf between Jan. 1 and June 30. The promotion is offered to community groups located near the new US 183A toll road scheduled to open in March as the first project financed and constructed by CTRMA. Children’s Health Festival
The Williamson County & Cities Health District will host their 5th Annual Children’s Health Festival Feb. 10 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Dell Diamond Heritage Center in Round Rock. Families can obtain information about resources available in the community regarding children’s health, safety and nutrition. 3. Park & Ride
Capital Metro’s Leander Park & Ride at US 183 and FM 2243 is slated to open Jan. 29 with grand opening celebrations planned for February. Park & Ride facilities allow commuters to park their automobiles in accessible locations near their home and take a choice of multiple routes into downtown Austin. 4. Tax Services
