1 . Red Brick Pizza

A neighborhood restaurant offering fire-roasted gourmet pizza opened last month next to Lakeline Mall at 11301 Lakeline Blvd., Ste. 220. Red Brick Pizza celebrated its second location in the Cedar Park area with a ribbon cutting Jan. 18. Red Brick sears pizza at 1,000 degrees in three minutes and serves fresh salads and Fhazani sandwiches. 2. Library Events

The Cedar Park Public Library will begin hosting a writers group and a knitting and crochet group this month. The Central Texas Women Writers Group was formed for women to come together on the third Thursday of every month from 1 to 3 p.m. to write, read and share stories of their lives. The first meeting will be Feb. 20. The knitting and crochet group will begin Feb. 16 and will meet on the first and third Friday of every month from 1 to 3 p.m. For more information, call the library at 259-5353.

3. Ace Hardware

Cedar Park’s first Ace Hardware opened their doors Jan. 22 and celebrated a grand opening Feb. 9, 10 and 11. Located next to Moonie’s Burger House at 200 Bell Blvd., Ste. D, the national chain offers hardware, power tools, electrical and plumbing tools, cleaning supplies and housewares. For more information, call 258-1500 or visit www.acehardware.com.

4. Medical Uniforms

Cedar Park Medical Uniforms opened Jan. 25 in the Bell Street Center at 251 Bell Blvd., two miles north of RM 620. Owner Al Bayleyeen opened the specialty store and offers a wide selection of medical scrubs, lab coats and accessories. For more information, call 336-8800.

5. Training Center Moves

Tillman Physical Therapy and Sports Training Center moved into a new location last month. They relocated from 1525 Cypress Creek Road to 2519 Lakeline Blvd., Ste. 100. The therapy and training center provides sports training and rehabilitation, massages, electrotherapy, and also treats medical conditions like carpal tunnel syndrome, fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome. 6. Keen on Clean

The city’s annual cleanup event will be Saturday, April 14 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. as part of the Great American Cleanup, sponsored by Keep America Beautiful. The Citywide Cleanup Event is designed to beautify the city and surrounding areas by reducing the amount of litter throughout the community and gives residents the opportunity to dispose of large, bulky items. For the first time, household hazardous waste will also be collected. Municipal utilities customers can drop off appliances, construction materials and household hazardous waste at the Austin Community College parking lot at 1555 Cypress Creek Road. Heritage Tourism Grant

The Texas Historical Commission awarded more than $27,000 in Heritage Tourism Partnership Grant funds to eight organizations for the promotion of the Texas Lakes and Texas Brazos Trail Regions. The City of Cedar Park received $5,000 to use for signage that will reference the railroad traditions at BCRP. For more information about the THC’s partnership grant program, call 463-3893.
