1. Calhoun Chiropractic
Lynn Calhoun recently opened Calhoun Chiropractic at the intersection of US 183 and Osage Drive. With 23 years of experience, he offers full spine and extremity treatments. For more information or to make an appointment, call 466-4278.
2. Spring Egg-stravaganza
The Leander Parks and Recreation and Leander Fire departments will host the grand opening of Robin Bledsoe Park, 601 S. Bagdad, Saturday, March 31 from 2 to 4 p.m. The Egg-stravaganza is open to all residents and will have the annual egg hunt. For more information, call 259-2640.
3. HEB Plus! & PostNet
Leander’s first grocery store, HEB Plus!, celebrated their grand opening Feb. 23 with more than a hundred residents waiting to walk into the new store at 6 a.m. Management welcomed customers as they arrived and city council members and staff celebrated, as well. The new store is part of a development center at 651 US 183. PostNet, which opened last month, was the first store to open in the HEB center. PostNet is a full service business support center specializing in digital layout, printing, copying, packing and shipping.
4. Sharon Kaye, The Salon
Sharon Kaye Warren opened Sharon Kaye, The Salon last month at 2500 Bagdad Road. She will offer pedicures, manicures, hair coloring and all salon services. For more information or to lease space, call 260-4052.
5. Leander High School Craft Show
Leander High School will host its first Craft Market March 31 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 3301 S. Bagdad Road. Admission is $2 per person and children under 12 are free. There will be more than 80 vendors, food and entertainment. The market will benefit the Leander High School Lions Baseball department. For more information, visit http://lhs.leanderisd.org.
6. Acting Workshops
The Way Off Broadway Community Players is teaming up with Austin Acting Workshop’s Barry Pinea to offer acting workshops in their theater on Crystal Falls Parkway. The workshops will include extensive monologue and scene work through nine classes. The cost for each session is $250 for WOBCP members and $275 for non-members. Good Times Guide
The Leander Parks & Recreation Department released 2007 Good Times Guide, a 12-page guide to parks and recreation services. The brochure includes locations for all City parks and facilities, local service organizations contact information, recreation program information, a calendar of events, plus information about new parks and trails. Copies of the Good Times Guide can be picked up at City Hall, Leander Public Library or the Crystal Falls Golf Club. For more information contact the Parks & Recreation Department at 259-2640.
