A new Dr. John’s Sports Center opened in Cedar Park last month at 1800 Clover Lane. The center includes a full-sized gymnasium, dance studio, multipurpose meeting and activity area, outside picnic area and two acres of playing fields. Named after Dr. John Krampitz, a doctor of health and physical education, the facility offers programs for youth and adults like dance, yoga, pilates and aerobics, with a special interest in middle school teens. 2. Chamber Golf Classic

The Cedar Park Chamber of Commerce hosts its sixth annual Golf Classic, May 1, at Twin Creeks Country Club, 3201 Twin Creeks Dr. Registration is at 10 a.m. and shotgun start is at 11:30 a.m. The cost is $100 per player, $400 per team and $10 each for mulligans (dinner included). 3. More Car Choices

Cleo Bay Suzuki is opening off FM 1431, east of Parmer Ln. this summer. Construction began this month on the 5.6 acre-lot and is expected to have a 10,000 sq. ft. showroom. Cleo Bay currently has locations in Killeen, Gatesville, Georgetown, Liberty Hill, Holland and Nolanville. For more information, call Cleo Bay Honda at 254-690-7355.

4. Wine is Our Thing

A Grape Vine Market will open this year off of US 183 in the old Callahan’s building. The Austin-based market is known for its collection of beer, wine, cigars, cheeses, chocolates and wine accessories. Due to construction delays, a final opening date has not been set. 5. New Bank

Sovereign Bank celebrated its grand opening with a ribbon cutting, March 30, at their new location at 150 S. Bell Blvd. The bank opened its doors Jan. 3, and offers all banking services, energy lending, loan syndication, a commercial real estate department and free ATMs at all 7-Eleven stores. 6. Espresso, Smoothies & Music

A new coffee shop opened at 711B North Bell Blvd. in February. Coffee Spot celebrated its grand opening, March 31, with a ribbon cutting. Jay Solankee opened the quaint shop and offers gourmet espresso drinks, smoothies, pastries and Round Rock donuts. The Spot also has live music Friday and Saturday evenings. 7. New Goodwill

A new Goodwill is opening at the corner of US 183 and New Hope Rd. later this month. Goodwill is a nonprofit provider of education, training and career services for people with disadvantages, such as welfare dependency, homelessness, lack of education and work experience and those with physical, mental and emotional disabilities.
