1. Doing More
The International Bank of Commerce (IBC) held its ribbon cutting, June 24, at 301 W. Whitestone Blvd. IBC has an aggressive and innovative attitude to “Do More” for their customers and their communities. For more information visit www.ibc.com.
2. Business Expo
The 6th Annual Cedar Park Business Expo, Aug. 5, will be in the Cedar Park High School cafeteria, 2150 Cypress Creek Rd., from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. This event allows residents to familiarize themselves with local companies. Prizes will be given away, food will be provided by the Leadership Alumni Association and high school bands will perform. To make the community safer, free car window etching and child printing kits will be available. For more information call the Cedar Park Chamber of Commerce at 260-7800.
3. Library Grant
The Cedar Park Public Library, 550 Discovery Blvd., was awarded a $50,000 Literate Community Grant from the Dell Foundation for a third consecutive year. The money will be used to sustain and expand the children’s, summer reading and adult enrichment programs, as well as computer classes. It will also be used to bring in performers and speakers for library programs and special events and to buy new computers and other needed materials. 4. Custom Made Hamburgers
Owner Kevin Hamilton opened Daddy’s, June 5, in the Bell Street Center at 251 N. Bell Blvd. The restaurant serves 100% fresh, never frozen, custom made hamburgers. Daddy’s is open Monday through Friday from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. and Saturdays from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. For more information call 257-8600.
5. ACC Expansion
Austin Community College’s Cypress Creek campus is doubling in size with an additional 70,000 sq. ft. of new classrooms and support space. The new building includes the student welcome center, administration, science and computer labs, library, faculty offices and classrooms. The expansion also creates a collegiate feel to the campus with areas for outdoor dining, shaded lounging, group study, and an amphitheater. Construction is expected to be complete this December.
