Cedar Park to celebrate opening of new fire station
Written by Staff Friday, 02 May 2008

A grand opening celebration for Cedar Park Fire Station number four is planned for May 3 at 10 a.m. City Council and staff will dedicate the new fire station, which is located at 150 Church Park Street off Ranch Trails Road in the Ranch at Brushy Creek subdivision. The family-friendly event will include tours of the station, fire trucks and appearances by the Keen on Clean mascot Sparkles, and the new TACS mascot Ariel.
Instead of the tradition ribbon-cutting, there will be a "hose uncoupling" followed by a ceremonial push of the fire truck into the station. There will also be cake, cookies, and drinks as part of the celebration.
Due to limited parking at the fire station, attendees are asked to park on Church Park St. and Ranch Trails Rd. and walk over. Residents of the Ranch at Brushy Creek are urged to walk to the station from their homes.
Station number four will primarily cover all areas East of Vista Ridge Boulevard. It will specialize in Haz-Mat response beyond the normal duties of EMS First Responder, fire suppression, and vehicle extrication. The station is approximately 10,500 sq. ft. in size and will have a community room for citizens to use for meetings.
