Cedar Park residents to get new exercise facility

The City of Cedar Park broke ground May 22 on the new recreation center at the intersection of Main Street and Discovery Boulevard.
The facility will include approximately 47,500 square feet of indoor recreational space. The center will have a double gymnasium with elevated walking/jogging track. A cardio theater and weight area, three multi-use community rooms, babysitting area, lobby, offices and storage are also planned for the facility.
We are very excited about starting construction on the Recreation center, says Curt Randa, Parks & Recreation Director. This is a
project that many residents have looked forward to for a long time. We believe it will benefit many people by making it easier to achieve
their goals of maintaining an active lifestyle."
The Recreation Center is scheduled to open Summer 2009.
