Leander ISD logoA kid's cook-off featuring elementary students from Leander ISD will be held May 6 at Cedar Park High School. The competition is designed to encourage healthy eating habits in a fun, challenging and educational environment.

LISD's Child Nutrition Services and Sodexo School Services will host the Second Annual Elementary Culinary Competition. A blank recipe entry form was sent home with fourth and fifth grade students to develop, write and submit their favorite "Healthy After-School Snack". The recipes will be judged in three categories: health-conscious, kid-friendly preparation and fun kid foods.
Students from each LISD elementary school campus will prepare their recipes in the May 6 cook-off. Students will participate in an afternoon of culinary events starting with basic food safety practices.

The contest will be held May 6 from 6:15-7:45 p.m. at Cedar park High School, 2150 Cypress Creek Road.
