Attendance zone committee forming
Written by Staff Tuesday, 09 September 2008
Leander ISD is currently forming a parent/citizen advisory committee to assist in developing recommendations to the board of trustees for high school and middle school attendance boundaries for the 2009-2010 and subsequent school years.
Parents and community members from all areas of Leander ISD are needed, since these recommendations could impact the entire District. LISD will be opening Vandegrift High School with 9th and 10th graders in the fall of 2009 at its new middle school site (located off of FM 2222 at the former Ribelin Ranch site). The following year, the permanent high school building will open with 9th-11th graders, and Four Points Middle School will then operate for grades 6-8.The board has asked the administration to convene a representative group of approximately 15 patrons to serve as an attendance zone advisory committee. Community members interested in serving on this High School and Middle School Attendance Zone Committee should go to www.leanderisd.org to complete and submit an application by Sep. 25.
