E3 Alliance, LISD offer Deliberative Dialogue series
Written by Robert Bell Wednesday, 15 October 2008
Anyone who is interested in voicing concerns and offering suggestions about the future of education in Central Texas will have not one, but three opportunities to do so at a series of upcoming discussions.
Leander Independent School District, along with E3 Alliance, will host a series of Deliberative Dialogues Oct. 27, Nov. 3 and Nov. 10. The discussions will take place from 6:30-9:30 p.m. in the cafeteria of Cedar Park Middle School at 2100 Sun Chase Blvd.
The events are open to anyone residing in LISD and are intended to give residents the chance to contribute ideas for a plan to ensure students are prepared to join the 21st century workforce. The dialogues will follow a discussion guide and will be moderated so that everyone will have a chance to speak. Refreshments and child care will be available. Participants must register before the event. To register, visit www.e3alliance.org/leander08.html.
The E3 Alliance stands for Education Equals Economics and is a collaborative effort between Austin Community College, the Austin Area Research Organization and the University of Texas. The group was formed in order to increase the quality of life and global competitiveness of Central Texas.
