More routes added, but Leander still without regular service (updated)

UPDATE 4:41 p.m. Nov. 7 — Capital Metro released its weekend schedule at 4:33 p.m. No Leander routes will be available. Route 383, which includes a Lakeline Mall stop, will run from 6 a.m.-7:30 p.m. Nov. 8 and 9.

MetroAccess for customers with disabilities will operate at its full level of service from 6 a.m.-7:30 p.m.

Capital Metro increased the number of routes in operation Nov. 7, the third day of a strike by Amalgamated Transit Union Local 1091, the group which represents most of Capital Metro's bus operators and mechanics.

More employees have returned to work; 80 union members reported as usual Nov. 5 and 167 returned Nov. 6. More routes will be added as more employees return.

Routes will operate from 6 a.m.-7:30 p.m. with a frequency of 30 minutes or less. No fares will be charged during the strike.

Capital MetroAccess (formerly Special Transit Service) for passengers with disabilities is operating at a reduced service level from 6 a.m.-7:30 p.m. on weekdays. Reservation priority will be given to customers in need of dialysis or urgent medical appointments followed by riders needing transportation to work or school if resources and capacity allow. UT Shuttle routes and the Capital Area Rural Transportation System (CARTS) are operating as scheduled. UT Shuttle routes are available to the general public.
