Gutterman puts final, important touch on homes.
Most homeowners will buy gutters only once or twice in their lives, according to Bill Frazier, owner of Austin Gutterman. He said people should have the best service and product going on the most expensive thing they own.
“Customers have chosen us over the years because of the quality of service, especially the service after the sale,” Frazier said. “Our past customers are our biggest success; more than half of our customers are past customers or were referred by customers. We build relationships that make our business grow, and that is the key to success.”
Frazier started Austin Gutterman in 1984 with his son, a couple of contractors and his wife running the office. The office was off of Metric and US 183, in central Austin. They moved to the Northwest Austin location, near McNeil, 13 years ago, and now have 40 employees.
“We are Austin’s oldest gutter company and are family owned,” Frazier said. “All employees are full time, which means we will be there when we say we will be there and will be properly trained for each home. We have great people doing the right thing.”
Any home that is without gutters or needs new gutters can use services and products provided by Gutterman, according to Frazier. His company has exclusive rights to snap-lock installation, the only installation process that will not penetrate the back of the gutter, which causes leaking water to rot the sides of the house.
“A well-installed gutter system is necessary for every house,” Frazier said. “Many home builders don’t add gutters, so we perform that service. Our installations have a warranty for life, so customers will never have to worry about their gutters again. They can even transfer the warranty to the next home owner if they sell their house.”
Frazier believes his company provides employees with a good place to work in a stable environment. His employees are well-trained for each individual house. He said he offers a variety of products, rather than just one type of gutter, which most other companies do.
“Each house has its own personality and needs. We do what is best for the house,” Frazier said. “We also provide a boot camp for the gutter industry where we teach other companies to provide better service and be successful.”
Constant growth in the Austin area over the last 20 years has contributed to Gutterman’s success, Frazier said. The company has 20 trucks to service the central Texas area.
“We will continue to grow with Austin, and into the hill country, with Marble Falls and Georgetown becoming a big part of our business,” Frazier said. “Northwest Austin is our best marketplace, and we enjoy doing business here. We can and will continue to help anyone with gutter needs.”
Specialty gutters
- Rainwater collection — Collecting rainwater can help keep a lawn green even during times of drought. Austin Gutterman partners with the City of Austin's water conservation program to sell these systems, and they can be included with any gutter installation.
- Gutter helmet — The helmet fits over existing gutters and keeps out leaves, debris and even nesting animals that can eventually lead to mildew and water damage to homes.
