General Manager’s Note - March 2008
Written by Traci Rodriguez Friday, 28 March 2008
It all began with the strong conviction of John Garrett, our publisher, that friends and neighbors in the surrounding Austin communities deserved timely and useful news at the local level. He also believed this news should be delivered monthly at no charge. The first issue of Community Impact Newspaper delivered to the residents of Round Rock and Pflugerville in September of 2005. The publication was a hit and his beliefs were validated. Soon a second paper launched in Cedar Park/Leander, then a third in Northwest Austin and finally, a fourth paper in Georgetown, Hutto and Taylor.
We at Community Impact Newspaper feel embraced everywhere we go by the community. We’re constantly asked when and where we’re going next; and since the possibilities are endless, I love this question. It is with much excitement that I announce the launch of our fifth edition to Southwest Austin April 11.
Northwest Austin readers will also receive a yearly publication April 25. Connected, a comprehensive community guide, contains useful information you’ll want to have accessible for the entire year such a local dining guide and transportation updates.
One last thing to note is the re-launch of our website, www.impactnews.com. Our web team has been preparing for months and the new site goes live April 7. I look forward to hearing your feedback, please check out our website next month and let me know what you think of Connected.
