1. Buffalo Wings & Rings opened in April in the Round Rock Town Center at the corner of Gattis School Road and A.W. Grimes Blvd.

3. Play N Trade Video Games opened in November at the Round Rock Crossing shopping center and offers new and used video games and game systems.

4. Turtle Creek Market, a 34,700 sq. ft. retail center at 1500 A.W. Grimes, held a ribbon cutting ceremony in March. The new buildings, developed by DuPont Group, are available for lease.

5. Toll 45 flyover There are no plans at this time to build a flyover at Toll 45 and IH 35. The ramp is considered an “added capacity” project. This transportation project is under the jurisdiction of the CAMPO board and needs to be approved by the board before moving forward.
6. The Hesters Crossing project began in May 2007 and is expected to be completed January 2009. Improvements include realigning the Hesters Crossing Bridge and adding two lanes, realigning the Mays Street-Dell Way intersection, adding a new northbound frontage road lane, constructing a southbound frontage road to the northbound frontage road turnaround bridge, and adding a collector-distributor road that bypasses the Hesters Crossing intersection.
7. Heatherwilde Boulevard exit off Toll 45 Cars currently traveling west on the Toll 45 frontage road are forced onto the state highway. Construction on the exit began in March 2007. However, a delay in the delivery of steel for the structure over the toll lanes and bad weather caused construction delays. The ramps are now expected to open in June.
8. Intersection at Via Sonoma Trail and Gattis School Road The city has plans to install a light but no date has been set.
9. Meister Lane Proposals from engineers have been reviewed and the department of transportation has created a short list for interviews. A consultant should be chosen soon and designs will begin this summer.
10. New Meister Lane is being expanded to four lanes and expected to be complete at the end of summer.

11. Construction of a new high school is under way. Cedar Ridge High School, Round Rock ISD’s fifth high school, is scheduled to open in fall 2010 with an expected enrollment of 1,200 to 1,800. The $83.9 million facility will be approximately 375,000 sq. ft. and will be able to house as many as 3,000 students when filled to capacity.
The school’s layout is not patterned after other schools in the district. Academy programs will be offered at Cedar Ridge High School just as at the other high schools and an athletic program will be available.

12. The Salvation Army Family Store is building a 25,000 sq. ft. facility with a donation center for quality clothing and other goods. The store will open June 14.
