Number 1 — Round Rock Bingo opened last month at 15501 RM 620, formerly the Round Rock Roller Rink. Play times are Monday through Saturday at 7 and 8:45 p.m., and Sunday at 2, 3:30 and 5 p.m. For more information, call 244-0961.

Number 3 — Construction on Vista 620 retail center is planned to begin at the end of the month. The project is scheduled to be ready for tenants by the second quarter of 2009. Kiddie Academy, Martinizing Dry Cleaning, Firehouse Subs and Dunkin Donuts are among the tenants. There is retail space and 30,000 sq. ft. of medical space available as well as a pad site at the corner of RM 620 and Deepwood Drive. Mixed-use development

Number 7 — Highland Horizons is a master-planned, 193-acre mixed-use project. The development is designed to include 319 single-family lots, three multifamily sites, a 7-acre retail site and six commercial pad sites. Home builders currently involved with the project are Kimball Hill Homes and Streetman Homes. Construction is scheduled to begin mid-September.

Wildlife preserve

Number 8 — Beck Preserve On Sept. 26, 2006, the Williamson County Commissioners Court officially named the area just west of RM 620 the Beck Preserve after the family who originally bought the land in 1930. For years, the Beck Ranch was one of the county’s most successful cattle operations. Beneath the 42.8 acres of ranch lay caves full of moist karst stone formations that are home to the endangered Bone Cave Harvestman spider.

Transportation

Number 9 Williamson County is planning to extend O’Connor Drive from RM 620 south to Toll 45. The proposed design includes a four-lane divided roadway with a bridge over Lake Creek and an interchange with Toll 45. Construction is expected to begin in August 2009.

Number 10Intersection improvements are scheduled along RM 620 at Cornerwood Drive, Great Oaks Drive and O’Connor Drive. Construction is expected to begin in July 2009.
