A.W. Grimes expanding to state highway 79

The first phase of the A.W. Grimes project will be expanding the road to a six-lane roadway from CR 170 to Lake Creek Pkwy. The second phase will be completing another six-lane roadway from Lake Creek Pkwy. to Hwy. 79.

“We wanted to give drivers an alternative to IH 35,” Cindy Fronk, Round Rock public works administrative technician said. “With the expansion, we will bring a connection between A.W. Grimes to the state highway 45.”

The $23,550,000 project is expected to finish this October. Funding was provided by the Transportation Construction Fund and outside participation.
