New publication highlights community opportunities
September is here and school is back in full swing. Routines have changed and indoor recreational activities are scheduled. One of the activities I enjoy is spending time in the cardio/weight room at Clay Madsen Rec Center. My husband is one of the 44 percent of Round Rock’s health facility users who swims at the lap pool there. I can see us also using the new aquatic center that will be constructed at the YMCA. The plans are impressive and this new feature will be a great asset for groups in the area.
My home is not far from the new Verde Springbrook Corporate Center, so it is also with great interest that I have followed this story. Anytime a large structure is built near your home, you are probably wondering how it will affect you.
Property value and how it relates to taxes is another story we offer this month. My home received a higher appraisal value this year, and I have a vested interest in discovering the extent to which this will impact my family.
Community Impact Newspaper has two new exciting announcements. We launched our fourth newspaper Aug.10, which covers local news in Georgetown, Hutto and Taylor. Already, we have received positive feedback.
Look for a special publication Sept. 21. We will be sending our first annual comprehensive community guide called Connected, a useful tool for any resident throughout the year.
With all that is happening in Round Rock and Pflugerville, it’s hard to find a moment to pause long enough to enjoy some quality time, but this fall, I hope you can dive into one of our great community facilities.
