Online rideshare
The River Cities Rideshare program is offering a free online service to help match commuters with carpools in the Austin/San Antonio area. The program is funded by Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization, Capital Area Council of Governments and Alamo Area Council of Governments. ROUND ROCK
Trails expanding
Round Rock’s trail system will be extended following the award of a $2.36 million grant to the city’s Brushy Creek Regional Trail Gap Project last month. The project will increase connectivity to schools, public facilities and businesses across eastern Round Rock. The paved trails will be 10 feet wide and include pedestrian-friendly lighted underpasses and bridge crossings, provide scenic views and feature natural rock formations, parking and emergency phones. The proposed route connects the existing Brushy Creek East Trail to A.W. Grimes. From A.W. Grimes, trail users can continue west along Lake Creek Trail toward downtown or south toward Clay Madsen Recreation Center and Dell Inc.

Construction began last month on a new business park near the intersection of Toll 45 and La Frontera Boulevard. Travesia Corporate Park is located on 26 acres and will feature three buildings with a total of 175,950 square feet. The park is part of a 200-acre mixed-use development called Raceway Crossing, which will ultimately include retail, industrial and residential spaces. For leasing information, visit their website.

3. Snap into shape
Fitness fanatics in Round Rock can go to the gym whenever they please with the opening of Snap Fitness, a 24-hour gym located at 3720 Gattis School Road. RRISD schools make the list
Newsweek included three Round Rock ISD high schools in its list of the top 1,300 public high schools. Westwood High placed in the top 100 schools with a ranking of 77, McNeil High was listed at 662 and Round Rock High was ranked 800. To see the full list online, visit their website.
4. Central Texas rehab
Reliant Rehabilitation Hospital Central Texas at the northeast corner of CR 172 and Hesters Crossing in La Frontera is scheduled to open June 15. The hospital offers 50 private rooms and 25 skilled nursing rooms that feature flat-screen televisions, oversized showers and bathrooms, wood floors and wireless internet. 5. Salvation Army
Construction finished on the new Salvation Army Family Store at 601 Louis Henna Blvd. last month; a grand opening is scheduled for June 14. The 25,000 sq. ft. store features a donation center in the back and will sell furniture, clothing, household items, books, electronics and more. 6. My Generation
My Generation Family Restaurant recently opened at 1208 N. IH 35, Ste. Z in the Round Rock West Shopping Center. From Elvis to Atari, My Generation celebrates pop culture from the ’50s, ’60s, ’70s and ’80s with music, memorabilia and American fare. 7. Apartments available

The Round Rock Volunteer Center, 301 W. Bagdad Ave., held their annual Williamson County Volunteer of the Year Ceremony at the Baca Center May 1. Inflatable outdoor movie screens are available for rental from the recently opened Fun Flicks of Texas. The first Starbucks in the city opened at Pfluger Crossing, 1709 Pflugerville Parkway, on May 30. Patrons with gift cards can get two hours free wireless internet per visit once the card is registered online.
