Dress your pet up in the cutest Halloween costume with a $5 donation and you and your pet could be the winner of a great prize. White Rock Veterinary Hospital, in Three Points Plaza, is hosting a Halloween Cutest Pet Photo Contest. Entries must be submitted to the clinic, by mail or email, by Oct. 28. Winners will be announced Nov. 1. Proceeds go to the Louisiana Veterinary Medical Association for displaced animals. For more information visit www.whiterockvet.com.

2. Honored Veterans

The Fallen Warrior Memorial Dedication ceremony takes place on Veterans Day Friday, Nov. 11, at 3 p.m. in Pflugerville Park. This is an opportunity for families to honor loved ones lost to war. The memorial has life-sized bronze sculptures of three generations of warriors standing in front of a granite pentagon. Names of Pflugerville fallen warriors will be engraved on it. 3. Got Books

Pfriends of Pflugerville will host a semi-annual fundraiser at the Pflugerville library Friday, Nov. 4 from 11 a.m. - 6 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 5 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. They will be selling books, CD’s, videos and handmade bookmarkers. They will have door prizes, and a raffle drawing. All of the proceeds will go to the library and its activities. For more information please call the library at 251-9185.

4. Anniversary Gala

The Greater Pflugerville Chamber of Commerce celebrates its 20th Anniversary, Saturday, Nov. 20 at Pfluger Hall. This semi-formal event offers catered food, cash bar, music, dancing and silent auction. Cost is $45 a person. RSVP by Friday, Oct. 28. For more information please call the Chamber at 251-7799.

5. Trick or Treat

For a safe Halloween bring the kids to Trick or Treat on Main Street in Pflugerville Oct. 31 from 6 -7 p.m. Members of the Pflugerville chamber will host games and give away candy. For more information contact the Chamber at 251-7799.

6. Annoyed by the Medians?

At the request of Pflugerville’s city council, city engineer Joe Carpenter is in discussion with TxDOT about the possibility of doing away with the medians completely on FM 685, or at least providing more breaks in the median. This will provide more access to businesses along the road.

7. Say Goodbye to your Fat Pants

Curves of Pflugerville celebrates their third anniversary, Oct. 14. Drawings will be conducted throughout the day for current members as well as a zero percent service fee and discounted membership rates available to new members. For more information please call Curves at 251-7800.

8. Regional Relocation

Austin Regional Clinic is relocating its Pflugerville office Monday, Oct. 17, to the Windermere Center off 1825.
