Round Rock Medical Center’s expansion will be completed April 2006. The expansion includes the addition of a three-story patient tower, a new ICU, a new surgery department and future capacity for four additional stories in the patient tower and more medical/surgical beds.

2. Rockin’ Docs

Round Rock Medical Center, a member of the St. David’s HealthCare Partnership, will host the first annual “Roc N Doc” Gala Thursday, Dec. 1, at the Marriot La Frontera. The event will benefit four community clinics in Williamson County. St.David’s Foundation has agreed to match all funds raised through this event. The evening will offer live music by Alter Ego and a performance by local “rockin’ docs” with the Big Time Band. 3. Shopper’s Bazaar

The Clay Madsen Recreation Center on Gattis School Road will host the Rockin’ Around the Holidays Bazaar Saturday, Nov. 12, from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. The bazaar features more than 90 vendors displaying jewelry, candles, toys and more. Children can visit the Elves Workshop to create holiday crafts. Admission is free.

4. You’ve Got Mail and More

Lone Star Mail and Parcel opened, Oct. 3, in La Frontera. The eclectic shop offers a mail drop off, flight or cruise booking, retail art, Verizon wireless cell phones, puzzles, candles, furniture and gifts by Texana gifts, as well as travel agents.

5. More Bank for your Buck

Texas United Bankshares Inc. acquired Round Rock based Express Bank of Texas, Oct.26, for $9.35 million. The company expects earnings improvement through both expense savings and revenue enhancements. The bank plans for five locations in Williamson County.

6. No more Dental Anxiety

The Palm Valley Dental Spa opened, Oct. 1, in Ste. 110 of the First State Bank off Palm Valley Blvd. The spa pampers its patients with warm lavender pillows behind their necks and hand massages while in the chair. The visits ends with a relaxing chair massage, warm scented towel and bottled water. For more information or to make an appointment call 255-6197.

7. Traveling Tradition

The Sami Show, a traveling arts, crafts and gifts show since 1975, will be at the Dell Diamond, Nov. 19-20. Open Saturday 10 a.m. -5 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m.- 4:30 p.m. Adults are $4 and children under 12 are free.

8. Christmas on Main

Christmas Family Night on Main Street is Friday, Dec. 9, from 6:30 p.m. - midnight. Free hot dogs, hot chocolate, Santa Claus, carolers, games and more. Admission is free. For more information call Cath Martel at 341-3342.

9. Senior Center Relocation

The Round Rock Senior Center is moving. The new center opens its doors, Jan. 3, at 301 W. Baghdad. The center is 29,000 sq.ft. up from the 8,000 sq.ft. of their present building.
