1. Pecan Street Expansion
Pecan Street will be expanded from two lanes to four in the next five years. Travis County voters approved $150 million in county improvements, Nov. 8, that included the Pecan Street project.
2. Don’t Forget
Holidays at Heritage Park will feature crafts, pictures with Santa, music and more. It takes place Friday, Dec. 9, from 6 p.m.- 9 p.m. at Hutto Rd. Admission is free. Call 251-5082 for more information.
3. New Chiropractor
Dr. Julie Restall joined Central Chiropractic & Rehab in Nov. making it the only chiropractic office in Pflugerville with both a male and a female doctor. The office is located behind Tinseltown at 15300-B FM 1825. For more information call 989-7477.
4. Home Decor with a Texas Twist
Chateau Chic is a special line of home décor with a Texas twist featured at Pflugerville Country Gift Gallery Dec. 10, 10 a.m. - 5p.m. There will be refreshments and one lucky shopper will have the chance to win a special gift. For more information please call 251-5329.
5. Holiday Light Parade
The streets of Pflugerville will be lit up for its annual Holiday Light Parade, Dec. 3, at 6 p.m. The parade begins on Railroad near Park Crest Middle School and turns down Main Street.
6. Where Mom’s Used to Cook...
The space formally occupied by Mom’s Café has a new tenant. Don and Susan Stecker are opening a new barbecue restaurant in Windermere Plaza. The Rib BBQ will open its doors early December and will be a cafeteria style restaurant. For more information please call 989-8031.
7. Grand New Project
Grand Avenue Parkway has a new retail center that has several tenants including Mr. Gattis, Best Liquor, Texcom Wireless, Fashion Cleaners, Custom Tailor and Parkway Primary Care, (Dr. Gwendolyn Miller, internal medicine and Dr. Shane Keller, family practice.) Also included as part of the shopping center is a Wells Fargo ATM machine.
8. Come Swap With Me
The Swap Meet gathers Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 8 a.m. until the last customer leaves. It is a place for the community to come, sit, socialize and shop. Located at 15507 Connie Street and Three Points, the meet features booths like one with more than 250 salt and pepper shakers. Rent space is $5 a day outside and $40-$70 a day inside. 9. Who Needs Starbucks?
A new drive-through coffee shop called Dazzle Coffee is coming to downtown Pflugerville at 2nd St. and Pecan St. The coffee shop will offer coffee, pastries, teas and bagels for people on the go. The prospective owners, Mike Scheschuk and Corey Wertenberger will break ground in January and hope to be open by April.
