New Jobs

The Census Bureau is hiring more than 2,000 employees to complete the Test Census. Most of the positions pay $14.50 per hour. The work varies, but the hours are flexible. Both full-time and part-time jobs are available. These are temporary jobs lasting 5-10 weeks. 3. New Bank

Citizens National Bank plans to open its first building in Travis County at FM 685 and Pecan St. Lloyd Hebbe will be the senior vice president at the new bank that is expected to open this fall. Hebbe recently worked at the Pflugerville Comerica Bank as branch manager. Citizens National Bank has locations in Cameron, Rockdale, Taylor and Giddings.

The Bead Choice opened Dec. 1, and has an extensive line of quality beads and other jewelry making tools. 5. Small Smiles

Small Smiles, a dental office for children between ages 1-16, is opening a second office in Pflugerville at the corner of Heatherwilde and Settler’s Valley Drive in April. The new office will have a larger space for kids to play and more toys for them to play with. Parents can enjoy coffee, hand massage, and even get their nails painted. 6. More at YMCA

The Pflugerville YMCA added space and new machines, as well as new programs like gymnastics, little leagues, martial arts and yoga. There are six YMCA branch locations throughout the area. For more informations call 928-9622.

Primary Voting Dates

The last day to register to vote in the Republican and Democratic parties’ primary elections is Feb. 7. Early voting dates and locations are posted on the Travis County Web site, http://www.co.travis.tx.us/county_clerk/election. Primary voting day is Tuesday, March 7.

Upper Level District Changes

Long time Pflugerville administrator, Randy Reese, became the first assistant superintendent of communications and operations for Pflugerville Independent School District in January. Bill Clayton took over as assistant superintendent for construction and operations, also.
