1. New Bank Opening Soon
Independent Bank of Central Texas will open its second Round Rock facility at 4020 Sunrise Road at the northwest corner of University Blvd. and Sunrise Road near Teravista in spring 2007. The 5,000 sq. ft. facility will house regional bank offices, a four-lane drive thru facility, a drive thru ATM and approximately 1,500 sq. ft. of professional office space. 2. Boomers and Beyond
The Senior Wellness Alliance is sponsoring the Texas Wellness Conference & Expo Sept. 15, from Noon- 5 p.m. at the Wingate Inn and Conference Center, 1209 IH 35. The Senior Wellness Alliance promotes active aging and encourages healthy lifestyle choices. The expo is free and the conference is $15 per person and $25 per couple. 3. Hospital Adds to Medical Staff
St. David’s Round Rock Medical Center has recently added four more doctors to its staff: Dr. Tara Heyliger, ob/gyn, Dr. Jason Stokes, family medicine, Dr. Joseph Fischer, family medicine, Dr. Veronica Spellings, internal medicine and pediatrics. Four more who will begin at the hospital this fall are Dr. Stephanie Michel, ob/gyn, Dr. Melanie Pagette, ob/gyn, Dr. Christopher Lewis, family medicine and Dr. John Salas.
4. Class A Office Space Planned
North Mays Limited Partners are planning a 25,000 sq. ft. Class A building with 5,000 sq. ft. of Mays Street level retail space and 10 residential penthouses overlooking Brushy Creek on land north of Main St. in downtown Round Rock. For more information contact Russ Boles at 244-9707.
5. Splash Swim Center
Central Texas’ premier swim training and resource center, Splash Swim Center, broke ground last month for its new 28,000 sq. ft. state of the art aquatics facility just east of Parmer and FM 1431. The center will offer 26 lanes of indoor swimming space in two state of the art pools, a cardio fitness area and a full strength circuit, competitive and fitness oriented swim team groups for all ages, swim lessons, wellness programs, aquatic therapy and rehab, as well as targeted triathlon training groups. 6. Steppin’ Out with the Stars
Star Dancers, Round Rock’s award winning dance team, is hosting a dance clinic Friday, Sept. 15 from 6-9 p.m. for girls K-9th grade at First Baptist Church in Round Rock. Don’t miss this opportunity to introduce your daughter to the world of dance and have an evening to remember. The cost is $25 and will include T-shirt, snacks, awards, certificates and free tickets to Star Dances Spring Show. 7. Fire Alarm Museum
An Open House for the Fire Alarm Museum will be Sept. 13, from 2 p.m.- 5 p.m. for visitors of all ages at the JM Electronic Engineering building on 1005 Sam Bass Road.
