1. A Royal Flush
Royal Flush Barber Shop opened last month on the east side of IH 35 between FM 1825 and Grand Avenue Parkway. Rey Torres owns the shop and offers shoe shining, straightedge shave and haircuts with hot lather. Call 670-1227 for more information.
Remember the Troops
The Pflugerville City Council issued a proclamation at their Aug. 22 meeting declaring September as “Remember the Troops” month. The Texan Patriot Network accepted the proclamation and will be collecting donations throughout the month to send care packages to troops in the Middle East. 2. New Preschool
Guardian Angels is a new preschool at St. Augustine Church located at 100 Wilsbarger Ave. The school is open for children three years old to Pre-K. Director Angie Elizondo has more than 20 years of teaching experience. Call 785-8490 or 779-0471 for more information.
3. Weight Loss & More

4. Police Department Open House
The Pflugerville Police Department will host an open house from 5 p.m.- 8 p.m., Sept. 23 at the Pflugerville Justice Center located at 1611 Pfennig Lane. It will be an evening for residents and families to visit the Police Department and get acquainted with officers and staff. Call 251-4004 for more information.
5. The Water Tank
The Water Tank will open its second location in January at the corner of FM 1825 and Central Commerce Drive. They will offer homemade chicken fried steak, burgers and breakfast tacos in the morning. Visit www.austinwatertank.com for more information.
Sidewalk Sale
The Downtown Association will host a sidewalk sale Friday, Sept. 29, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday,
Sept. 30, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. La de Da, Pflugerville Country Gift Gallery, Flowers & Frills, Pecan Street Antiques, and The Old Prague Market will participate in the sidewalk sale, as well as outside vendors. Door prizes will be given away at each business. Dazzle Coffee and sausage wraps will be offered at La de Da, and bottled water will be available outside next to Flowers & Frills. Summer Opportunities Grant
Pfriends Pfor Pflugerville’s Pfuture’s Summer Opportunities program received a $5,000 grant from Applied Materials for a second year in a row. The grant will assist in providing a safe and secure alternative to self-care with a day camp and recreation center memberships offering supervised activities, swim lessons, field trips, sports and teamwork to reduce the number of accidents and injuries of latchkey or self-care children.
