1. Public Hearing
The Texas Department of Transportation will host a public hearing with residents to discuss Pflugerville Parkway West extension Oct. 19, at 7:00 p.m. at Park Crest Middle School, 1500 Railroad Ave. Call 251-2074 for more information.
2. Pfamily Pfestival & Expo
The Greater Pflugerville Chamber of Commerce will sponsor the Pfamily Pfestival & Expo “Come Home to Shop” Oct. 21, at Pflugerville High School, 1301 W. Pecan. The event will last from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will be loaded with family fun, demonstrations, entertainment and shopping choices from local merchants. Call 251-7799 for more information.
3. Celebrity Golf Tournament
KVET radio and the Rotary Club of Pflugerville will cohost a Celebrity Golf Tournament Oct. 19, at The Golf Club at Star Ranch in Hutto. Celebrities like former Dallas Cowboy and Texas A&M linebacker Dat Nguyen, Austin Wrangler and UT quarterback Chance Mock, Round Rock Express pitching coach Burt Hooten and Grammy award winner Ruben Ramos are among the celebrities scheduled to attend. Money raised will benefit local scholarships, the children’s hospital, the Rotary Foundation, The Storehouse, Faith in Action Caregivers and the Pflugerville Police Department bike rodeo. Sponsorships from $100-$1000 are available and participants can enjoy a BBQ dinner, awards ceremony and silent auction after golf. 4. Pfairway Office Park
New medical and professional office condominiums are now available for rent at 1272 A.W. Grimes Blvd. The Pfairway Office Park offers Class A buildings from 880-10,560 sq. ft. Star of Texas Award
Sprysoft Corporation, a Round Rock based firm specializing in internet marketing and software, was awarded the Greater Austin Chamber of Commerce’s “The Star of Texas” small business education award for volunteer work the company did during Hurricane Katrina last year. Ben Finklea, a Pflugerville resident for five years, accepted the award Aug. 30, at the Chamber’s annual awards banquet.
5. TxTag Tour
TxTag Tour, a 10K Run and 50K bike race will be Sunday, Oct. 22, 6 a.m.-9 p.m. Governor Rick Perry will possibly participate.
A ribbon cutting celebration, Wednesday, Nov. 1, will be held at the SH 130/SH 45 N interchange at 10 a.m. People are encouraged to use the Hendrickson High School parking lot for both of these events where there will be a shuttle.
