1. Ceramics and More
Ceramics and More, 101 W. Pecan St. celebrated their grand opening Oct. 21. Owner Willie Jackson, a Pflugerville resident, plans to include beads and mosaics by the beginning of next year. They will offer classes for children and adults, as well as supplies. Call 252-2243 for more information.
2. Holidays at Heritage Park
The city will host its annual Holidays at Heritage Park at 901 Old Austin Hutto Road Nov. 8, from 6 to 9 p.m. There will be Santa pictures, hot chocolate, arts and crafts for kids and entertainment from local schools. 3. Acupuncture Open House
What does it do? Will it help me? Get all your questions answered about acupuncture and oriental medicine by the only practitioner in Pflugerville with assistance from several of his patients. 4. Town Hall Meeting
The city will host a Mayor’s Town Hall Meeting Nov. 9, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Pflugerville Justice Center, 1611 E. Pfennig Lane. The topic for discussion: is rail right for Pflugerville? Call 990-4363 for more information.
5. Operation Christmas Child
National Collection Week for Operation Christmas Child, the world’s largest Christmas project to help children suffering around the world, is Nov. 23-20. Pflugerville First Baptist Church is the Austin main area collection center and will accept shoe boxes filled with school supplies, toys, necessity items and a hand-written note throughout this holiday season and year-round. 6. Pfall Pfest
The Parks and Recreation Department will host the Pfall Pfest Arts and Crafts Show Nov. 18, at the Pflugerville Recreation Center at 400 Immanuel Road from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is free. Call 251-5082 for more information.
Bullet Proof Vests Grant Awarded
Pflugerville was awarded federal funding from the Bureau of Justice Assistance that will equip an additional eight officers with armor (ballistic) vests. “Citizens of Pflugerville wish to retain our safe place to live and raise a family environment,” City Manager David Buesing said. “Although all crimes in our community are not by the citizenry, we must protect responding officers against these invariable acts.”
7. PC Store
A new computer upgrade and repair store opened Oct. 9. PC Clinic, 1466 Grand Ave. Parkway Ste. 106, is open Monday - Friday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturdays 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and closed Sundays. Call 252-3361 for more information.
