1. New Tenants in Grand Avenue Office Park

Tank Technologies, an in-office voice over Internet phone company, has opened in the Grand Avenue Office Park at 1433 Grand Avenue Parkway. This is the Austin-based company’s first Pflugerville location providing integrated phone systems to businesses. OT Connection, a center for pediatric occupational therapy, has opened in the same office park. OT Connection helps teach children motor and behavioral skills, in addition to offering physical therapy, pediatric yoga and kindermusik programs. New Law Firm

2. Ballet Studio Opens

The Texas Academy of Ballet, located at 20009 FM 685, will waive registration and the monthly fee during the month of January to celebrate its grand opening, Jan. 8. The academy’s ballet program is based on the syllabus provided by the Royal Academy of Dance in London. Director Carolyn Bognar will also offer jazz and tap dance classes. 3. Church Breaks Ground

New Life Baptist Church, which meets at Murchison Elementary School, held their groundbreaking at 19711 Hodde Lane Dec. 10. The church plans to open the new facility by August. For more information, call 251-0011.

New Appointments to City Boards, Commissions and Committees

The Pflugerville City Council hosted an appreciation reception during their work session Dec. 12 to honor all retiring and newly appointed Board, Commission and Committee Members. An oath of office ceremony was held for newly appointed members. Appointments Include: Keith Hickman, Oscar Rodriguez, Warren Jones, Robert Wilson, A.K. Brewer, Javed Helali, Tamya Isenberg, Barry Ryan, Donna White, Sheila Aboii, Tracey Redus, Kathryn Young, Mark Gladney, David Rogers, Darelle White, Wayne Cooper, Nancy Ramsey and Sam Storms.

4. Christmas Tree Recycling

Residents can bring Christmas trees to the Wells Point Soccer Fields parking lot for recycling until Jan. 10. Trees can be unloaded on the south end of the parking lot. The mulch made from the trees will be free and available to the public. For more information, call the Parks Department at 251-5082.
